Serving Sandy Springs. Empowering Our Community.
Founded in 2003 by David Couchman and Melanie Noble-Couchman, the Couchman Noble Foundation (CNF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation committed to improving the quality of life for everyone in our community — especially children and families.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that every resident of Sandy Springs has the opportunity to succeed.
A City of Opportunity, Still Reaching for Equity
Sandy Springs is one of the most affluent communities in the Southeast, serving as a major employment center and transportation hub that has experienced remarkable growth and prosperity. As the second-largest employment center in Metro Atlanta, it is a hub for medical research and innovation, and home to both national and international companies. While it offers ample opportunity for success, the city continues to face critical challenges—chief among them, ensuring that every resident has a seat at the table and a place to truly call home.

Focused on Community. Committed to Impact.
Through three key initiatives—Sandy Springs Together, the Next Steps to Success Scholarship, and multi-year grants—along with active partnerships, CNF proudly supports a wide range of organizations advancing education, the arts, youth leadership, social services, and public safety. Each effort is grounded in a shared commitment to building a more equitable and vibrant Sandy Springs for all.
“We started the Couchman Noble Foundation to help build a Sandy Springs where every family has the opportunity to thrive—through education, innovation and a deep commitment to equity.”
— David & Melanie Couchman
As long-time residents of Sandy Springs, the Couchmans believe that strong communities are built when we invest in people — and that starts at home. CNF focuses its time, energy and resources to support local organizations working to uplift and strengthen our community.
CNF is a private charitable foundation founded in 2003 by David and Melanie Couchman. The foundation’s primary focus is on serving the community in which they live – Sandy Springs. They are deeply committed to improving the quality of life for everyone in our community, especially the children, in giving everyone the opportunity to succeed.
They give their time and resources to many community organizations in Sandy Springs.
At the heart of CNF’s community impact are three key initiatives—Sandy Springs Together, the Next Steps to Success Scholarship and a grant-making program—each reflecting a strong commitment to equity, education, and opportunity in Sandy Springs.
Sandy Springs Together (SST)
SST, funded by CNF, mobilizes residents at every income level to champion housing that working families can afford and to foster safe, walkable neighborhoods. The initiative pairs community-driven research with public forums and direct outreach to city leaders, ensuring everyday voices shape local policy. By building broad coalitions and amplifying lived experiences, SST keeps growth inclusive and opportunities open to everyone.
Another initiative funded by CNF — provides need-based gap aid for local graduates who have completed their first year of college or technical training, covering tuition, fees and books so they can finish a marketable credential. Administered with the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the award is renewable each year for students who remain on track toward graduation.
Grant Making
For 20+ years, CNF has supported the following organizations through its grant making initiative:

Family Stabilization & Housing
